Our Vision 2026 – 2030
Over the next five years, Two Mile Hill Primary School will become a place where every child builds powerful knowledge, every learner is empowered, and play is recognised as fundamental to success and wellbeing. Our vision is rooted in our mission, Building Knowledge, Empowering All, Embracing Play, and guided by our RICHER values of Respect, Integrity, Curiosity, Hope, Excellence and Responsibility.
Building Knowledge means securing lasting learning. Drawing on the science of learning, we will design teaching that strengthens memory, deepens understanding and enables pupils to connect ideas across subjects and over time. Knowledge will not be treated as isolated facts, but as the foundation for thinking, creativity and future opportunity. Excellence will be expected for all pupils, with outcomes that reflect high standards and strong progress across the curriculum.
Empowering All means that every child will feel heard, valued and capable of success. High expectations and inclusive practice will ensure that belonging is the norm, not the exception. Strong relationships, rooted in Respect and Integrity, will underpin daily life. Books and literature will sit at the heart of the school, shaping identity, strengthening communication and fostering a genuine love of reading. Pupils will grow into confident, articulate individuals who can express their ideas clearly in a range of forms.
Embracing Play recognises that play is not an optional extra, but essential to development. We will protect time and space for exploration, imagination and emotional growth. Outdoor environments and natural materials will support creativity, resilience and connection to the natural world. Children will understand the value of play in building collaboration, wellbeing and lifelong learning habits.
Our physical environment will reflect our priorities, with spaces designed for focus, exploration and inclusion, a library that symbolises our commitment to reading, and outdoor areas that celebrate childhood. Staff will be a professional, purpose-driven team committed to continual improvement, modelling our values and engaging fully in professional learning.
By 2030, our children will leave us as knowledgeable, curious and confident learners, deeply grounded in Respect, Integrity, Curiosity, Hope, Excellence and Responsibility, ready to thrive in the next stage of their education and in the wider world.
Our Values
From the second they are born, children begin to form their own opinions and views of the world. Since children spend a significant amount of their time at school, we feel it should be a place that supports families’ and communities’ efforts to establish strong values in our children, so they may grow up to be caring, confident and respectful adults.
At Two Mile Hill Primary we spent a long time consulting with parents, carers, staff, governors and children to agree the values we wished to foster in the school and instill in the children.
